The calorimetric measurement of liquid pool
reactions is a challenge.
But not with PRTs Internal Heat Compensation.
The first method to precisely measure the reaction kinetics in Polypropylen reactors.
Principle function: An Internal Heater brings the reactor to reaction temperature and
the jacket temperature is kept constant.
The reaction energy after injection is compensated by lowering the power of the internal
heating. With this approach the reaction kinetics can be studied.
Example: Fully automated 12l reactor with calorimetric measurement
- Isotherm, even afer injection
- Isobar, even after injection
- Needs good stirrer and reactor design to ensure good heat transfer
